Acupunture Acupressure

Acupressure information
A form of acupunture that substitutes the use of needles with the use of the fingers is acupressure. It is based on the same principles as acupuncture but is a relatively simpler procedure. This technique has its roots amongst those ancient Chinese medical developments that can be sated back to about 2000 years ago. This form of massage therapy can be used to relieve the body from various discomfort and pain. In fact it has become a popular technique in massage parlors through out the world.

Different points of acupressure
Acupressure uses the same acupoints that are used in accupuncture. A patient goes through a thorough physical examination. The examination under a Chinese medicine practitioner is much more extensive than at a massage parlor. The emotional, physical and mental activity of the patient is observed along with the pulse rate and other aspects are taken into consideration. This is done in order to determine the meridian points that are out of balance and diagnose the affected organs. After these particulars have been determined specific acupoints are recommended. The massage therapist will then maneuver his fingers on the different acupoints and determine the needed action.
